To start Healthy Schools Week, Reception created an obstacle course and timed each other to see how fast we could go. We talked about what makes up a healthy lifestyle.
The children were keen to show off their best handwriting today as part of National Handwriting Day. Both the staff and children have been working hard to think of creative methods to develop handwriting.
What a day! Everyone looked amazing in their bright colours today – special mention to Mr Kelley for that shirt! Thanks to the generosity of our parents and families, the bring-n-buy sale was a great success! Our School Council, led did a brilliant job in organising the event. Be prepared for some creative Christmas gifts from the children this year.
Reception gathered compost from different sources before adding some kindly donated plants. The children loved the challenge and are looking forward to seeing the plants grow and develop. One student even hoped for a beanstalk!
Happy Diwali Everyone!
Reception celebrated Diwali by creating Rangoli Patterns by our door, using chalk and paint. We discovered that this was done as a way to welcome the God Lakshmi into buildings. It was really fun once the colours started to blend together in the rain! We also acted out the story of Rama and Sita, and made Diwali cards.
