Music

At Cannon Park, we are passionate about music. All children enjoy a weekly music lesson. We use Charanga, which is a world-leading music teaching and learning platform used in 62 countries, to deliver our music curriculum. It has a vast library of resources, songs, instrument courses and creative apps.

In Year 3 and Year 4, Mrs Ball, from Coventry Music Service, teaches the children the ukulele every Wednesday afternoon as part of their music curriculum. We believe offering every child the chance to learn an instrument as part of their curriculum is very important.

Mrs Ball also leads the whole school in singing on Wednesdays and leads our school choir during Wednesday lunchtimes.

Extra-Curricular Lessons

All children in Year 2 to Year 6 have the opportunity to learn an instrument, either individually or as part of a small group of two children. These lessons are delivered by music teachers from Coventry Music Service. If you are interested in your child learning to play an instrument, please click here for more information about Coventry Music Service.

Currently, we have the following lessons available:

Thursday Morning Drums
Thursday/Friday Afternoon Flute
Thursday/Friday Afternoon Keyboard

Music Groups

Coventry Music also offers children the chance to take part in music groups for all primary school children. Please see the following flyer for more information:
