Safeguarding

At Cannon Park, we regard Safeguarding of all children as our main priority. Our school vision makes it clear that all children have the right to be happy and to learn in a safe environment. We all have the responsibility to make this happen.

We listen to our pupils and we take seriously what they tell us.

All school staff are trained in safeguarding and Child Protection, and are trained to look out for signs of physical/emotional harm or neglect. All school staff are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

If you have any concerns about the safety and/or well-being of any child or young person, you can contact school or telephone the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) on: 02476 788 555 or if out of hours call the Emergency Duty Team on: 02476 832 222

All Safeguarding practice at Cannon Park is underpinned by the latest version of Keeping Children safe in Education.
