Recycling

Battery Recycling

Well done to all our children for collecting all the old batteries from around their homes.  Together we collected over 2000 batteries! Thanks to this amazing effort, we have prevented these from ending up in landfill and harming our environment, and all will be turned into new batteries!

The Green Team members carefully counted and sorted all the batteries, ready for recycling.

We will continue to collect batteries to do our bit for the environment. The recycling point is in the front entrance.

Meet The Guinea Pigs

The guinea pigs have caused much excitement this week, and the children have loved having them in school and in their classrooms. The School Council collected possible names from each class and shortlisted the choice, before allowing our Reception Children to have the final say.

Meet Carrot and Spud!

Some of the children have already enjoyed stroking the the guinepigs and some have even enjoyed reading stories to them. Spud really enjoying hearing the tale of Goldilocks and The Three Bears, whilst Carrot nibbled on some hay!

A big thank you to the Friends of Cannon Park who enabled us to purchase everything needed to help us care for our school pets!

Easter Lunch

The children enjoyed a fantastic Easter lunch today thanks to the hard work from the amazing kitchen staff.

Metallic Art

This afternoon, Year 3 have been working hard to create their metallic-inspired pieces of artwork with impressive results!

Our Science Selfies

Congratulations to Luke, Chloe, Isaac and Jovan for winning our first science selfie competition. The children of Cannon Park became scientists and took part in exciting experiments at home, taking photographs of their endeavours.

Science Master Class

Reception had a lovely afternoon with Mingyang’s dad, who came into to share some exciting science with us. He showed us how to create a battery with lemons, and made an electric motor, using  wire, a magnet and a battery. The children were really impressed and enjoyed their visit.
