Our Science Selfies

Congratulations to Luke, Chloe, Isaac and Jovan for winning our first science selfie competition. The children of Cannon Park became scientists and took part in exciting experiments at home, taking photographs of their endeavours.

Science Master Class

Reception had a lovely afternoon with Mingyang’s dad, who came into to share some exciting science with us. He showed us how to create a battery with lemons, and made an electric motor, using  wire, a magnet and a battery. The children were really impressed and enjoyed their visit.

Celebration Assembly

Well done to this week’s certificate winners. It was lovely to hear how many children are doing extra-curricular activities and showing our Cannon Park Values.

Bake Off Books

This week, our new books arrived for our library. We were only able to buy these books thanks to the money raised during the Great Bookish Bake Off on World Book Day. Thank you to everyone who made or bought cakes – the children will enjoy reading these books!

Herb Garden

Mrs Smith has been hard at work creating our very own herb garden with the help of two children. Let’s hope the sun continues to shine and they begin to grow.

Celebration Assembly

Well done to this week’s certificate winners for showing our values. Thank you to the children, who took part in our Science Selfie competition – Mr Wilson enjoyed finding out all about your scientific adventures.

World Down Syndrome Day

On Thursday, children celebrated World Down Syndrome Day. Year 5 wore odd socks for the day and all the children took part in an assembly on the theme of ‘Leave no one behind’.

Coventry Mile

On a sunny, blustery Sunday morning, a number of Cannon Park children and staff joined in with hundreds of others to run the Coventry Mile at War Memorial Park. Fortunately, the event ended before the weather turned and the children (and adults) had a lovely time. Well done to all involved!
