Christmas Parties

Yesterday, the children enjoyed their class Christmas parties. They played games in the hall, decorated their tables and enjoyed their party food. Father Christmas even found time to pop in and give each child a book for Christmas.

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

The whole school took part in watching the live book read this morning and were treated to the book ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas’ which was read by Father Christmas himself! Over a thousand schools had joined in the festive fun which was followed by a live quiz.

Children in Need

The children had a great time raising money for Children in Need on Friday. Everyone took part in the Joe Wicks workout in the morning – the staff found it more of a challenge than the children! In the afternoon, our ‘bring-and-buy’ sale was a bit hit. Thank you all for supporting Children in Need.

Odd Socks Day

Everyone was sporting odd socks as part of Anti-Bullying Week today. Most importantly, Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun! It’s an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique!

Remembrance Sunday

In Year 3 , this afternoon we have been learning about Remembrance Sunday. We thought about the importance as well as the significance of the poppy. We then spoke about the how the poppy was the only flower to grow on the battlefields after World War I. A number of children spoke about how their family members were in the war.
After this, we made our own poppies.

Animals in Hand

Mo from Animal in Hands visited Year 3 on Wednesday to launch our new topic – Predators.  The children saw and handled an Australian carpet python called Jamal, a tarantula called Boris, a bull frog named Shrek and many other really exciting animals.

Twycross Zoo

Year 1 had a fantastic day at the zoo today! The children showed all of our school values, especially Enjoyment; we are very proud of them.

Right Angles

This morning, Year 3 have been busy making videos about right angles. As part of the videos, they have hunted down right angles outside and explained what makes a right angle. Enjoying the sunshine has been an added bonus!

Dogs Trust

Anthea Holloway from The Dogs Trust popped into school on Thursday to teach us all about safety around dogs. The children really enjoyed the assembly and individual class workshops.

Scrumdiddlyumptious

Year 3 have launched their new Scrumdiddlyumptious topic in style with a morning of cookery with Aspens Catering. Massive thanks to Wayne and Lisa for a fantastic morning.
